The Madison County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the upcoming 11th annual Dragon Boat Regatta, set to take place on May 11, 2024, at Old Trace Park on the Ross Barnett Reservoir.


The Dragon Boat Regatta is a fun and competitive racing event, as well as an exciting, action-packed family outing. The festivities will include Dragon Boat Racing, Food Trucks, Kids Zone, Marketplace Shopping, VIP Area, networking opportunities, and more! The Paddlers Party is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th, with the main Racing event on May 11th. Whether you are a first-time participant or a returning team, the energy and excitement of this rapidly growing water sport will captivate you.

Paddle for Poverty

Everyone participates in the Dragon Boat Regatta for different reasons, team building and community are the top two, but in addition, this year, we are all paddling against poverty.

In Madison County over 16% of children are currently living in poverty. The Madison County Chamber of Commerce Dragon Boat Regatta has partnered with MadCAAP to raise awareness for poverty within Madison County. Already, the Madison County Chamber through our Leadership Madison County program, has contributed to feeding over 700 families in our community.

This team building challenge is an opportunity for a minimum of 10 and up to 20 of your employees to compete in rowing a replica dragon boat in heats that day to eventually crown the 2024 Dragon Boat Championship Team. Team members must be at least 16 years old.
